Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains one of the UK’s biggest killers and in Rochdale, an estimated 14,000 people are living with heart and circulatory diseases.

It is estimated that 1100 people have been diagnosed with heart failure by their GP in Rochdale.

It is also estimated that 19,000 people in Rochdale have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and there are around 2600 stroke survivors in Rochdale.

High blood pressure can increase the risk of some serious and potentially life-threatening conditions, such as heart attack, stroke and heart failure.

Furthermore, around 10,000 adults have been diagnosed with diabetes in Rochdale, while 28% of adults in Rochdale have obesity and 16% of adults smoke in Rochdale.

Unfortunately, only 1 in13 people survive out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the North West of England.
